Just a short post this week, and it’s another one that is somewhat inspired by recent Washington-related events, but isn’t really about politics at all.


Several weeks ago, WikiLeaks released a large batch of documents which purport to detail the US government’s tactics and abilities for monitoring people through various pieces of technology, including secretly recording conversations that take place near Samsung SmartTVs. Kellyanne Conway then famously commented on microwave ovens being transformed into cameras.

This post isn't about politics, or Donald Trump.

The picture at the top? Well, that's largely click bait... but it IS actually relevant to what I'm writing about below.

This post is about the (figuratively and literally) shadowy figure in the picture: Mr. Isaac "Ike" Perlmutter.

I've actually been planning to write about Mr. Perlmutter since his court case came to my attention in October of 2016. Then, there were new developments in January of 2017. Now, with President Trump having very publicly announced his dinner meeting with Mr. Perlmutter last night, it seemed like as good a time as any to post.
